Israel Nature and Parks Authority Presents: 60 Years of Israeli Experiences

For 60 years, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority has played a vital role in
the Israeli tourism industry. The industry faced significant setbacks with the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent conflicts that led to a 47% decrease in inbound tourism.

However, recent months indicate the Israeli public is seeking ways to relax
and reconnect with nature. In anticipation of the annual IMTM International
Tourism Exhibition, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, a leading tourism
body in the country, showcases its offerings for a public eager to return to
familiar routines.

Since the beginning of 2023, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority has
introduced a variety of new tourism experiences. These innovations will be
highlighted at the annual IMTM tourism exhibition, and include:

The Heritage Vineyard in En Avdat National Park

This unique project features a research vineyard replanted with ancient grape varieties native to the Negev. These vines, restored from seeds discovered during archaeological excavations and groundbreaking DNA analysis, were once used to produce renowned Negev wine throughout the first millennium CE. Their reintroduction reinforces the Negev's identity as a wine region withdeep historical roots.

The Masada Challenge in Masada National Park

Opened in 2023, this exciting new trail in Masada National Park grants hikers access to previously hidden archaeological complexes. Equipped with ladders, handholds, and safety harnesses, the trail offers panoramic views of the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea.

“Touching Time”; in Zippori National Park and Bet She’an National Park

This hands-on activity is ideal for families, groups, and anyone interested in
archaeological conservation at some of Israel's most significant historical sites. Explore the mixed heritage of Zippori, the ancient capital of the Galilee known for its stunning mosaics, and the fascinatingly layered history of Bet She’an through this unique experience.

Additional Highlights

The Authority invites visitors to explore its many other sites, including
alternating art exhibitions, a wine shop, and a picnic area in Bet Guvrin-
Maresha National Park. Additionally, the public can visit Sussita National Park in the Golan Heights, which reopened last year after 20 years of
archaeological excavation.

Since its establishment in 1964, the INPA has been a leader in protecting
Israel’s heritage, landscape, and nature. Our national parks, nature reserves,
and protected areas are vital ecosystems and cultural treasures enjoyed by
Israelis and visitors worldwide.
